**Job Title: Palantir Foundry Engineer**
**Role Summary**
Design, build, and operationalize high-reliability data products and pipelines using Palantir Foundry, focusing on ontology modeling, pipeline engineering, and governance to deliver reusable datasets for applications (Workshop/Slate, AIP/Actions) and enterprise systems.
**Expectations**
- Achieve 99.5%+ pipeline success rate with SLOs and alerts.
- Reduce pipeline runtime/cost by 20% through optimizations.
- Resolve data incidents ≤4 hours MTTR, zero P1 incidents.
- Develop 3+ reusable templates for ingestion/processing.
- Establish ontology coverage with versioned contracts and lineage.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Model and enforce ontology schemas, defining authoritative datasets with lineage and provenance.
2. Build and optimize SQL/PySpark pipelines for materializations, tuning parameters for performance.
3. Configure operational monitoring (SLAs/SLOs, alerts), implement idempotency, and data quality checks.
4. Apply RBAC, security policies, and governance frameworks for PII/data privacy.
5. Optimize cloud resource usage (Parquet/Delta, partitioning), minimizing costs.
6. Employ Git, CI/CD, and testing for code versioning and transform validation.
7. Expose ontologies to applications via APIs/workflows, ensuring reuse across domains.
8. Document playbooks, runbooks, and product specs while mentoring teams on best practices.
**Required Skills**
- Expertise in Palantir Foundry (Ontology, Code Workbooks, Pipelines, Materializations).
- Proficiency in SQL, PySpark/Scala (UDFs, window functions, partitioning).
- Operational excellence: SLA/SLO monitoring, alerting, backfills, rollback strategies.
- CI/CD and Git practices for DevOps workflows in Foundry.
- Cloud storage/compute (AWS/Azure/GCP), file formats (Parquet/Delta), cost/performance tuning.
- Data governance and security (RBAC, policy tags, PII handling).
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related technical field.
- 7+ years data engineering/analytics experience; 4+ years hands-on Palantir Foundry at scale.
