Job Description

Job Title: ICT Engineer Role Summary: Handle incoming IT equipment, securely erase data using approved tools, support data security, networking compliance, and maintain accurate documentation in a fast‑paced disposal environment. Expactations: Demonstrate strong IT equipment and networking knowledge; accurately record test results and non‑conformities; work independently and collaboratively; communicate clearly in both written and verbal formats; exhibit meticulous attention to detail and accuracy; utilize database systems for record keeping; reside within a 30‑minute commute of the facility. Key Responsibilities: - Receive, inspect, and log incoming IT hardware from clients. - Execute approved data erasure procedures on all devices. - Perform basic connectivity and functionality tests. - Capture test data, note deviations, and report non‑conformities. - Maintain compliance with data security and regulatory requirements. - Update and manage equipment inventories in the database. Required Skills: - In‑depth understanding of IT hardware, including servers, networking gear, and storage devices. - Proficiency in data erasure methods and compliance standards. - Strong verbal and written communication. - Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Experience with database or inventory management software. Required Education & Certifications: - Minimum 5 GCSEs, including Maths, English, and an IT qualification. - No additional certifications required; on‑the‑job training provided.
