Software Engineer
Job Description
**Job Title:** Software Engineer **Role Summary:** Develop core data‑acquisition workflows, database architecture, and simulation tools for quantum computing hardware. Partner closely with RF and quantum engineers to create scalable software foundations, front‑end interfaces, and automated calibration pipelines in a fast‑moving deep‑tech startup. **Expactations:** - Deliver a high‑fidelity simulation tool modeling quantum impact of wiring architectures. - Build a user‑friendly front‑end (web or standalone) for simulation access. - Design and implement end‑to‑end data‑acquisition and calibration pipelines. - Create and maintain structured databases for quantum measurements and system metadata. - Provide ongoing software and IT support, diagnosing and resolving development issues. - Collaborate openly, challenge ideas constructively, and drive technical excellence. **Key Responsibilities:** 1. Architect and code simulation software and associated component libraries. 2. Develop front‑end UI using modern frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, Svelte). 3. Implement back‑end services (Node.js, FastAPI/Flask/Django) and relational databases (Postgres, MySQL). 4. Set up CI/CD pipelines, testing suites, documentation, and version control standards. 5. Manage time‑series data stores (InfluxDB) and observability tools (Grafana). 6. Integrate software with hardware instrumentation APIs and data‑acquisition hardware. 7. Mentor and support the engineering team on technical issues. **Required Skills:** - ≥5 years experience with front‑end frameworks (React/Vue/Svelte). - Strong Python proficiency for scientific computing, simulations, and data pipelines. - Solid back‑end development skills (Node.js or Python frameworks). - Database design and implementation (PostgreSQL/MySQL). - Experience with time‑series stores and visualization (InfluxDB, Grafana). - Mastery of software‑engineering fundamentals: CI/CD, automated testing, documentation, Git, code quality. - Ability to write clean, maintainable, scalable code. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred). - No specific certifications required; demonstrated expertise through portfolio/GitHub acceptable.
