Job Description
Job Title: Analytics Engineer Intern – Summer Program Role Summary: Paid, 10‑12‑week internship focused on turning raw business data into precise, analytics‑ready datasets. Candidates will perform data engineering tasks, collaborate with analysts and data scientists, and develop reusable data pipelines. Expectations: Full-time 40 hours per week; hybrid schedule (3 days onsite at one of three locations, 2 days virtual). Deliver clean, validated data for stakeholder use, document code and processes, communicate findings to non-technical audiences, and actively contribute to team projects and learning sessions. Key Responsibilities: 1. Work with analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to gather data requirements. 2. Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data using SQL and Python. 3. Build and maintain data workflows with tools such as dbt and Airflow. 4. Utilize cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) for data storage, processing, and modeling. 5. Validate data quality and ensure models meet business needs. 6. Document procedures, pipeline logic, and maintain version control. 7. Present technical concepts and insights to non‑technical audiences. 8. Perform additional related tasks as assigned. Required Skills: - Proficiency in SQL and Python for data manipulation. - Understanding of data modeling, cleaning, and validation. - Familiarity with modern data tools (dbt, Airflow) and at least one cloud platform. - Strong verbal and written communication. - Self‑motivation, problem‑solving ability, and quick learning. - Basic Microsoft Office Suite knowledge is a plus. Required Education & Certifications: - Currently enrolled in an accredited university program. - Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field. - Must be a rising junior, senior, or graduate student. - No specific certifications required.
