Job Description
Job Title: Junior Cloud DevOps Engineer Role Summary: Execute lift‑and‑shift migrations of on‑premises workloads to AWS, develop and maintain IaC, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools. Optimize cloud cost, ensure secure and scalable configurations, and collaborate with architects, engineers, and stakeholders in an Agile environment. Expectations: Must be a U.S. citizen; remote contract position; eligible for contract award and government security check. Key Responsibilities: - Deploy and support rapid migration of physical/on‑prem infrastructure to AWS. - Develop, maintain, and automate provisioning, monitoring, auditing, and de‑provisioning of AWS resources. - Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines with GitLab Runner or equivalent. - Apply IaC using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or AWS CDK; configure environments with Ansible, Chef, or Puppet. - Troubleshoot cloud‑based applications and service performance issues. - Document processes, contribute to system reliability improvements, and implement FinOps‑driven cost‑optimization strategies. - Participate in sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, retrospectives, and iterative delivery in Agile teams. Required Skills: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent. - AWS Associate‑level certification (Solutions Architect, Developer, or DevOps Engineer). - Terraform Associate certification required. - 6+ years of cloud engineering/DevOps experience focused on AWS. - Proficiency in CI/CD, containerization, IaC, configuration management, and scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell). - Strong knowledge of AWS security, networking, and best practices. - Experience with FinOps cost‑optimization and AWS‑native services. - Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and technical documentation skills. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. - AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Associate. - Terraform Associate Certification.
