Job Description
**Job Title** Business Analyst – Market‑Making Platform **Role Summary** The Business Analyst will partner with front‑office stakeholders to translate their vision into a greenfield market‑making platform. Acting as the stakeholders’ proxy, the analyst will capture requirements, maintain the product backlog, facilitate Agile planning, and ensure delivered functionality meets acceptance criteria. The role requires deep knowledge of exchange and retail brokerage operations, real‑time trading systems, and a hands‑on Agile mindset. **Expectations** - Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and the technical delivery team. - Own the backlog, prioritise stories, and make timely scope decisions. - Drive backlog refinement, estimation, and sprint planning activities. - Ensures high‑quality delivery through acceptance criteria and Business‑Driven Development. - Collaborate with UX designers, QA teams, and distributed team members. - Maintain a strong understanding of market operations, compliance, and risk controls. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Conduct requirements solicitation and discovery sessions with stakeholders. 2. Translate business vision into clear, testable user stories and acceptance criteria. 3. Create and maintain a prioritized product backlog for the delivery team. 4. Act as stakeholder proxy, making decisions on scope, priority, and trade‑offs. 5. Facilitate backlog review, estimation, and sprint planning meetings. 6. Capture and document non‑functional requirements (performance, reliability, security). 7. Collaborate with UX designers to define usability standards. 8. Guide QA and Business Acceptance Testing, ensuring delivered features meet criteria. 9. Keep abreast of exchange and retail brokerage best practices, risk controls, and regulatory requirements. **Required Skills** - Front‑office stakeholder relationship management. - Proven experience delivering in Agile environments (Scrum, SAFe). - Strong written and verbal communication. - Business Acceptance Testing and basic QA. - Collaboration with UX/UI designers. - Basic knowledge of client onboarding, tiering, and KYC. - Understanding of real‑time programming, high‑availability, TDD, BDD, DevOps. - Deep knowledge of exchange business models: order types, matching engines, auction mechanisms, market data distribution, risk controls, settlement, circuit breakers, regulatory reporting. - Retail brokerage expertise: collateralisation models, order management, position tracking, risk controls, regulatory reporting, order types (spot, CFDs, futures, crypto). - Ability to work effectively with distributed, cross‑functional teams. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or related field. - Agile certifications preferred (e.g., Certified Scrum Master, Product Owner, or equivalent). - Any additional certification in trading systems, risk management, or compliance is advantageous.
