Job Description
**Job Title:** Clinical Trust Fellow ST3+ in General Surgery **Role Summary:** A 12‑month fixed‑term Clinical Trust Fellow (ST3+) in General Surgery within the Surgery and Anaesthetics division. The Fellow will contribute to patient care, surgical caseloads, and multidisciplinary teamwork while gaining advanced clinical experience and leadership exposure. **Expections:** - Full legal registration with the General Medical Council (GMC). - Current Professional Indemnity and Bodily Injury indemnity cover. - Demonstrated commitment to professional development and quality improvement. **Key Responsibilities:** - Perform surgical procedures, including elective and emergency cases under senior supervision. - Carry out pre‑operative assessments, intra‑operative management, and post‑operative care. - Attend multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, contributing to patient management plans. - Maintain accurate and compliant clinical documentation. - Participate in audit, research, and quality improvement initiatives. - Assist in teaching and supporting junior trainees and nursing staff. **Required Skills:** - Strong clinical judgement and procedural competence in general surgery. - Effective communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary staff. - Ability to work flexibly within a rotating shift pattern. - Proficiency in electronic health records and surgical information systems. - Commitment to safety, evidence‑based practice, and NHS values (Respect, Compassion, Integrity). **Required Education & Certifications:** - UK medical degree (MBBS/MBChB) or equivalent. - Completion of Foundation Programme and at least one year of core surgical training (ST2+). - Eligible for contract at ST3 level or higher. - GMC registration in good standing. - Appropriate indemnity coverage (Professional Indemnity, Bodily Injury). ---
