Job Description
**Job Title** SkillBridge Fellow – Proposal & Capture (Business Development) **Role Summary** Bridge military operational experience to corporate growth strategy by driving strategic capture, intelligence gathering, and proposal development for defense, cyber, and national security programs. Work alongside executive leadership to position the organization to win government contracts, translating military planning into compelling, mission‑focused proposals. **Expectations** - Serve as a prospective Capture Manager or Business Development Lead; company will evaluate for a full‑time offer upon program completion and separation. - Demonstrate ability to integrate into the acquisition team, master the business acquisition lifecycle, and contribute high‑quality proposals. - Obtain command approval prior to fellowship start and maintain U.S. citizenship status for security clearance eligibility. **Key Responsibilities** - Apply MDMP/JOPP military planning methods to develop “Win Themes,” pursuit plans, and strategic capture strategies aligned with cybersecurity and cloud solutions. - Conduct “Area of Operations” research on customers, competitors, and market trends to inform pursuit strategy. - Analyze RFIs, RFPs, SOOs, FAR, OTA, SBIR, and IDIQ documents to extract timelines, pain points, and acquisition approaches. - Translate technical (“technobabble”) concepts into clear, mission‑focused messaging for government Program Managers and Commanding Officers. - Contribute to proposal “Operations Orders”: manage outlines, compliance matrices, and content reviews including Red/Gold Team processes. - Track and document the business pipeline using CRM tools, ensuring reconnaissance on new opportunities is actionable and up to date. **Required Skills** - Active‑duty U.S. military service member eligible for SkillBridge within 180 days of separation. - Strong background in military planning, intelligence, or operations. - Experience or strong interest in business development, capture management, proposal development, or government contracting. - Proficiency with FAR, OTA, SBIR, IDIQ acquisition regulations. - Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to brief senior leadership persuasively. - Curiosity and initiative with a focus on cybersecurity, cloud, and identity management. - U.S. citizenship (required for government contracting and security clearance). - Basic competency with CRM software and proposal management tools. **Required Education & Certifications** - U.S. citizenship with eligibility for national security clearance. - Completion of active‑duty service and eligibility for DoD SkillBridge program. - Familiarity with government contracting regulations (FAR, OTA, SBIR, IDIQ); formal certifications not mandatory but highly beneficial.
