Job Description
Job Title: Young Professional – Technical Support Role Summary: Provide technical and administrative support for Ramsar Site designation, conservation, and policy processes in the Americas region, including data management, stakeholder coordination, and conservation initiative implementation. Expectations: Manage data for Ramsar Site designation; support conservation of wetlands; facilitate stakeholder engagement; monitor project progress; complete administrative tasks. Key Responsibilities: - Evaluate Ramsar Information Sheets and prepare documentation for site designation updates. - Support Contracting Parties in entering data into the RSIS database. - Assist with conservation strategies for Ramsar Sites, addressing ecological changes. - Promote use of conservation mechanisms (technical guidelines, management tools). - Maintain contacts with governments, NGOs, and stakeholders. - Support preparation of regional meetings and conventions. - Analyze and draft technical and policy information for conservation initiatives. - Monitor project implementation and ensure compliance via reporting. - Complete administrative tasks (correspondence, database updates, translation). Required Skills: - Proficiency in English and Spanish. - Advanced computer skills; RSIS database experience required. - Experience in CRM platforms (Salesforce, CiviCRM). - Ability to work in multicultural, multidisciplinary settings. - Understanding of wetland conservation and cultural/gender diversity. Required Education & Certifications: - University degree (Master’s preferred) in geography, biology, hydrology, marine sciences, or related fields. - Minimum 6 months professional wetland fieldwork experience. - Familiarity with Americas region operations.
