Job title: Head of Technology UKI
Role Summary: Senior technology executive responsible for defining, steering, and delivering the technology strategy for Bupa’s UK Insurance Customer Medical and Health Care teams, leading digital transformation, modernising legacy systems, and ensuring secure, high‑performance technology services.
Expactations: Provide vision that aligns with Bupa Group IT, drive growth through technology, maintain operational excellence, lead a value‑based vendor ecosystem, champion cyber‑security and compliance, and cultivate an inclusive, high‑performing technology culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and execute UKI technology strategy in alignment with group direction.
- Partner with senior business leaders to enable growth, enhance customer experience, and improve operational excellence.
- Advise on emerging trends (AI, automation, cloud, cyber‑security).
- Embed product‑centric, agile ways of working across cross‑functional teams.
- Oversee large programmes and digital transformation initiatives; ensure on‑time, on‑budget delivery and quality.
- Modernise core systems for resilience, scalability, and usability.
- Promote data, automation, and AI adoption for efficiency and innovation.
- Lead service excellence: incident, problem, and change management; maintain platform stability.
- Build and manage vendor relationships to maximise value and performance.
- Ensure compliance with cyber‑security, regulatory, and governance standards.
- Foster an inclusive, collaborative culture; develop talent and support wellbeing.
Required Skills:
- Senior IT leadership in regulated sectors (insurance, financial services).
- Proven experience in technology strategy, digital transformation, and enterprise service operations.
- Expertise in product‑centric, agile delivery at scale.
- Deep knowledge of cloud platforms, digital architectures, data and AI technologies.
- Strong stakeholder influence and vendor ecosystem management.
- Excellent communication and simplification of complex concepts.
- Strategic thinkers with a practical, delivery‑focused mindset.
- Experience with modern software development, DevOps, security, and compliance.

Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline (advanced degree preferred).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS/Azure/GCP, Scrum Master/CSM, DevOps, CISSP) are advantageous.
