**Job Title:** Business Development Specialist (Business Development Manager – Construction) **Role Summary:** Drive measurable sales growth for Greco Architectural Metal Products in Ontario (≈80% GTA focus) by prospecting commercial construction projects, engaging contractors, pursuing bids, and converting awards. Maintain a strong field presence, build relationships with specialty and general contractors, and achieve revenue targets through disciplined follow‑up and technical positioning. **Expectations:** - Increase the number of bid invitations and award rates. - Meet or exceed annual sales quota (base $100‑115k CAD plus commission). - Maintain accurate CRM data and provide regular pipeline forecasts. - Travel ~40% within Ontario, with frequent on‑site and office visits. **Key Responsibilities:** - Identify and pursue commercial construction opportunities via direct outreach and on‑site visits. - Build and nurture relationships with contractors, developers, and project teams to secure bid opportunities. - Manage bid processes: compile bidder lists, submit substitution requests, and ensure full bid‑day coverage using platforms such as Dodge and Spec Success. - Develop and execute territory plans to grow market share in the GTA and surrounding areas. - Provide technical and commercial support; collaborate with estimating, engineering, and operations for pricing and scope alignment. - Capture field feedback on competition, pricing trends, and customer needs. - Track performance metrics (bid invitations, award rates, sales closures) and report to management. **Required Skills:** - 5+ years sales experience in commercial construction or related technical product sales. - Established network of contacts with contractors and developers in Ontario/GTA. - Proven ability to win long‑cycle, multi‑stakeholder bids. - Strong negotiation, objection handling, and follow‑up discipline. - Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM/order‑management tools. - Excellent communication, organization, and territory‑management capabilities. - Tenacious, results‑oriented mindset with a “hunter” sales approach. **Required Education & Certifications:** - High school diploma or equivalent (required). - Post‑secondary education in business, construction management, or related field (preferred but not mandatory). - Valid driver’s license with ability to travel locally/regional within the assigned territory.
