Job Description
Job Title: Strategic Communications and Public Affairs Intern – Energy and Sustainability Role Summary: Provide support to a strategic communications and public affairs team focused on EU energy and sustainability policy. Conduct policy monitoring, media research, draft briefing documents, assist in strategy development, and coordinate client meetings over a six‑month internship. Expectations: Deliver accurate policy analysis and communication content, manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision, collaborate cross‑functionally, maintain high attention to detail, and communicate effectively in English. Key Responsibilities: - Monitor media coverage and EU policy developments related to energy and sustainability. - Track parliamentary debates, committee hearings, and EU decision‑making processes. - Conduct research on new business opportunities and industry trends. - Draft policy briefs, briefing notes, press releases, and presentation material. - Assist in developing communication strategies and plans. - Organise client meetings, prepare agendas, and record minutes. - Support proposal development and client research initiatives. Required Skills: - Strong analytical and research capabilities. - Excellent written and verbal communication in English; additional EU language skills desired. - Ability to distil complex policy information into concise documents. - Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and research tools. - Detail‑oriented, self‑motivated, and able to prioritise independent tasks. - Team collaboration and proactive work ethic. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s or master’s degree in political science, business administration, law, or a related field. - Prior internship or employment experience within an EU institution or proven understanding of EU policy‑making. - No specific certifications required.
