Job Description
Job Title: Systems Administrator I Role Summary: Provide daily operational support for computer network systems—including workstations, file servers, and web servers—within a Department of the Navy Information Warfare Center data center environment. Expectations: Maintain system integrity and security; resolve technical issues promptly; collaborate with cross‑functional teams; comply with DoD cybersecurity standards; document procedures. Key Responsibilities: - Install, upgrade, and configure hardware, software, and system components. - Manage user accounts, network security tools, and firewall configurations. - Monitor and maintain web pages, interfaces, and local system documentation. - Troubleshoot network and security incidents, applying appropriate containment and remediation processes. - Train and support staff on software usage and IT best practices. - Ensure compliance with DoD 8570.1M, DoD 8140, and related cybersecurity workforce standards. Required Skills: - Proficiency in Windows Server and Linux environments. - Experience with network security technologies: firewalls, anti‑virus, intrusion detection/prevention. - Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills. - Ability to document configurations and procedures clearly. - Knowledge of web server technologies and basic web design. - Familiarity with Active Directory and credential management. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems. - Minimum one cybersecurity certification: CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). - Active Secret clearance (eligible for Top‑Secret).
