Job title: Salesforce Developer – Contract (Hybrid)
Role Summary
Contract Salesforce developer to build, maintain, and enhance a state‑level medical cannabis software platform built on Salesforce. Responsible for custom development, configuration, integration, security, performance tuning, and mentorship of internal staff. Works in an agile environment, providing technical leadership and ensuring compliance with security and regulatory standards.
Expectations
- Hybrid work schedule: 2 days in‑office (Tuesday, Wednesday) and 3 remote days.
- 1099 or W2 contract status.
- Mentor junior developers and support staff training.
- Maintain system uptime and performance, and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy custom Apex, Lightning Components, and Flow solutions.
- Configure and customize Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and related Salesforce products for the medical cannabis portal.
- Build and maintain integrations with external state systems via REST/SOAP APIs, middleware, and web services.
- Implement and manage Salesforce security, profiles, permission sets, sharing rules, and data access controls.
- Provide technical guidance, conduct code reviews, and enforce coding standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical designs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring minimal impact on users.
- Perform regular system maintenance: upgrades, patches, performance tuning, and monitoring.
- Document technical designs, code, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Participate actively in agile ceremonies (planning, stand‑ups, retrospectives).
Required Skills
- 3–5 years of Salesforce development experience.
- Proficiency in Apex, Visualforce/Lightning Web Components, Declarative Tools (Process Builder, Flow, Flows, Process Builder).
- Strong knowledge of Salesforce configuration and customization best practices.
- Experience with Salesforce integration patterns (REST, SOAP, batch, outbound messages, middleware).
- Deep understanding of Salesforce security model (profiles, permission sets, sharing, OWD).
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
- Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and written/ verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, mentor others, and deliver high‑quality solutions.
Required Education & Certifications
- Salesforce Platform Developer I or II certification (highly desirable).
- Salesforce Administrator experience and certification (preferred).
- Experience with Power BI, JIRA, Omniscripts/Vlocity, MuleSoft, or GitHub is a plus but not required.
