Job title: Senior DevOps / Jira Platform Engineer
Role Summary: Lead and administer enterprise‑scale Jira SaaS (Atlassian Gov Cloud) for a federal agency, driving Agile transformation and toolchain modernization. Own migrations from Azure DevOps to Jira, design integrations with GitLab and ServiceNow, implement governance, metrics, and compliance frameworks, and support cross‑functional DevOps teams in a secure environment.
Expactations: • 8+ years IT experience, with at least 3 years in Jira administration and DevOps tool integration. • U.S. citizenship required to work on‑site at a federal facility in Washington, D.C. • Proven track record of building REST API or webhook integrations between Jira, GitLab, and ServiceNow. • Strong scripting skills in Python, JavaScript, or PowerShell. • Experience with SSO (Okta, OAuth, SAML) and Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe). • Migrated Azure DevOps projects to Jira, preserving data integrity and permissions.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, configure, and optimize Jira SaaS (AGC) for enterprise‑scale operations.
- Design and implement custom integrations between Jira, GitLab, and ServiceNow using REST APIs, webhooks, and SSO.
- Develop and maintain Jira governance frameworks, permission models, custom workflows, and automation rules.
- Lead Azure DevOps → Jira migrations, ensuring data integrity and minimal business impact.
- Implement Agile metrics (velocity, cycle time, burndown) and dashboards for leadership visibility.
- Collaborate with DevOps and Agile teams to standardize tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and reporting.
- Create and maintain documentation, training materials, and SOPs for Jira operations and integrations.
- Provide after‑hours maintenance, change control, and compliance reporting as required.
Required Skills
- Jira administration and configuration (SaaS, AGC).
- REST API, webhook, and application integration expertise.
- Scripting in Python, JavaScript, or PowerShell.
- Okta/SSO (OAuth, SAML) integration.
- Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and metrics implementation.
- Azure DevOps migration experience.
- Knowledge of FedRAMP, FISMA, or similar federal security frameworks (preferred).
- CI/CD, DevSecOps, and cloud automation fundamentals.
Required Education & Certifications
- U.S. citizenship (must be able to work on‑site at a federal facility).
- Atlassian certifications (ACP‑620, ACP‑120, or ACP‑420) preferred.
- Experience with Confluence, Bitbucket, or Atlassian Marketplace apps (preferred).
