**Job title**
Java / Salesforce Developer
**Role Summary**
Develop and maintain medium to large Salesforce projects, writing Apex (Salesforce’s Java‑like language) and integrating with existing Java/Javascript codebases. Work collaboratively in a fast‑growing consultancy, contributing to solution design, implementation, testing, and deployment while driving continuous improvement and innovation.
**Expectations**
* Commute to Ghent office at least once a week.
* Fluency in Dutch and English (both spoken and written).
* 1–4 years of professional experience in Java, Javascript, or Apex.
* Strong communication, ambition, and a consultative mindset.
* Self‑directed learner eager to adapt to new environments and technologies.
* Willingness to participate in mentorship and certification programs.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Design, code, test, and deploy Apex classes, triggers, and Lightning components.
2. Integrate Salesforce solutions with external Java or Javascript services (REST/SOAP APIs, middleware).
3. Participate in requirement gathering, solution architecture discussions, and design reviews.
4. Maintain and enhance existing Salesforce applications, ensuring performance, security, and scalability.
5. Collaborate with business stakeholders, QA teams, and senior developers to deliver high‑quality solutions on schedule.
6. Mentor junior team members and contribute to a knowledge‑sharing culture.
7. Achieve and support Salesforce certifications as part of professional development.
**Required Skills**
* Proficiency in Java and/or JavaScript.
* Hands‑on experience writing Apex, triggers, SOQL, SOSL, and Lightning components.
* Understanding of Salesforce architecture, data model, and security model.
* Familiarity with REST/SOAP integration patterns and middleware (e.g., MuleSoft, Informatica).
* Experience with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and agile development practices.
* Strong debugging, unit testing, and code review habits.
* Excellent bilingual communication skills (Dutch & English).
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
**Required Education & Certifications**
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
* Salesforce certifications (e.g., Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I/II) are desirable but can be pursued on the job.
