Job Title: Chief AI Officer
**Role Summary**
Lead AI strategy, implementation, and governance across a portfolio of vertical‑market software businesses. Deliver measurable ROI through high‑impact AI use cases, embed AI into existing products, and build repeatable patterns for deployment across multiple companies while respecting decentralized ownership.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Define and execute a portfolio‑wide AI strategy aligned with long‑term value creation.
- Identify, prioritize, and champion high‑ROI AI use cases in areas such as pricing, customer support, forecasting, churn reduction, compliance, and workflow automation.
- Partner with operating company product leaders to embed AI into existing VMS products, developing shared patterns, frameworks, and reference architectures.
- Guide build‑vs‑buy decisions for AI tools, models, and platforms.
- Act as a trusted advisor to CEOs, CTOs, and product leaders, providing frameworks, playbooks, and hands‑on support for AI pilots and production transitions.
- Establish pragmatic AI governance covering data privacy, security, model risk, regulatory compliance (e.g., SOC 2, GDPR) and explainability.
- Build AI literacy across the portfolio through training, playbooks, and best practices.
- Support hiring, evaluation, and development of AI talent at operating companies.
**Required Skills**
- 5+ years of experience in software, data, analytics, or AI roles (B2B SaaS or vertical‑market software).
- Proven track record of delivering production AI solutions with measurable business outcomes.
- Strong knowledge of modern AI/ML approaches (LLMs, predictive models, automation, analytics).
- Experience in decentralized, multi‑company, or PE‑backed environments.
- Ability to translate technical concepts into business value for non‑technical leaders.
- Pragmatic, ROI‑focused, execution‑oriented mindset.
- Excellent influence and collaboration skills; comfortable operating without centralized authority.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
- Relevant certifications in AI/ML, data engineering, or product management (e.g., AWS Certified Machine Learning, Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer) are a plus.
