Job Description
**Job title:** Information Technology Support Specialist **Role Summary:** Deliver first‑line technical support across a manufacturing network, monitoring helpdesk tickets, troubleshooting hardware, software, network, and VoIP issues. Collaborate with a small IT team to maintain system reliability and support end‑users at multiple facilities. **Expactations:** | - Respond promptly to user requests and prioritize tickets by impact. - Work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment. - Travel between office and manufacturing sites as needed. - Maintain documentation, knowledge base articles, and reporting. - Participate in continuous learning and attend relevant trainings. **Key Responsibilities:** | - Monitor helpdesk queues (ticketing system) and provide Level 1 resolution. - Perform hardware and software upgrades on desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals. - Troubleshoot network connectivity, TCP/IP, VPN, and VoIP phone systems. - Apply hotfixes to tertiary applications and coordinate with vendors. - Manage firmware updates for printers, UPS, and other infrastructure devices. - Offer on‑site support at various facilities, including exposure to dust, noise, and heat. - Document solutions, maintain configuration lists, and update knowledge base. **Required Skills:** | - 1+ year of IT support experience (manufacturing or similar). - A+ certification; familiarity with Microsoft Office, ERP (e.g., SyteLine), ASP/HTML, Apple and Android devices. - Strong TCP/IP, VoIP, and network troubleshooting skills. - Excellent communication, empathy, and problem‑solving in both technical and non‑technical contexts. - Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and respond to after‑hours incidents. **Required Education & Certifications:** | - Post‑secondary degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. - CompTIA A+ (hardware & software) as minimum; additional certifications (e.g., Network+, Security+) preferred. - Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for site visits.
