Job Description
Job title: Electrical Design Engineer Role Summary: Design and develop electrical schematics for traction power system projects, prepare manufacturing documentation, and support production testing and customer approval processes. Work collaboratively in project kick‑off, tender review, and functional testing to ensure designs meet client specifications and company standards. Expactations: Minimum 5 years of professional electrical engineering experience, preferably in transmission, distribution or energy sectors; Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline; fluent in English (additional French, Spanish, or Portuguese considered a strong asset). Key Responsibilities: - Attend internal and external project kick‑off meetings and actively contribute to scope definition. - Review tender documents, aligning requirements with customer specifications, company standards, and cost estimates. - Design single‑line diagrams, detailed schematics, and required electrical drawings. - Generate manufacturing documentation for electrical components. - Provide production support during functional testing and Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT). - Assist Project Manager with customer design approvals and respond to inquiries. Required Skills: - Proficiency in designing DC and AC traction substation systems. - Strong knowledge of electrical schematics, single‑line diagrams, and related analysis tools. - Familiarity with manufacturing documentation processes and FAT procedures. - Effective communication and coordination with project stakeholders. - Ability to interpret and enforce specification and compliance requirements. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
