Job Title: Managing Director Role Summary: Lead and manage a global non‑profit association specializing in inflight catering. Responsible for strategic direction, operational execution, financial sustainability, board relations, and member engagement. Drives growth in membership and revenue while enhancing the association’s influence on industry standards, sustainability, and food systems. Expectations: - Achieve strategic vision in partnership with the Board. - Strengthen financial performance and diversify revenue streams. - Maintain high member satisfaction and grow membership base. - Ensure compliance, governance, and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities: 1. Strategic Leadership & Development • Define, implement, and review ACA’s long‑term strategy with Board input. • Monitor industry trends, risks, and opportunities; translate member priorities into actionable programmes. • Propose innovative initiatives to enhance relevance and impact. 2. Operational & Organisational Management • Oversee day‑to‑day operations, ensuring efficiency, transparency, and structure. • Deliver annual work programme, projects, and events on time and within scope. • Manage budgeting, financial planning, reporting, and governance. • Supervise external partners, consultants, and service providers. • Ensure legal, contractual, and organisational compliance. 3. Governance & Board Relations • Serve as primary liaison between Board and operational activities. • Prepare and present agendas, reports, and action points for Board meetings and General Assemblies. • Provide strategic advice and clear reporting to support informed decision‑making. 4. Membership & Stakeholder Engagement • Build and maintain relationships with members globally. • Drive member engagement, satisfaction, and retention. • Identify and recruit potential new members. • Facilitate collaboration, best‑practice exchange, and peer learning. • Design and deliver member‑value programmes aligned with needs. Required Skills: - Executive leadership and strategic thinking. - Strong business acumen: financial management, budgeting, and revenue diversification. - Excellent governance knowledge and board‑level communication. - Stakeholder engagement across diverse cultures and organisational structures. - Project management and operational oversight. - Proficiency in stakeholder‑centric program design and delivery. - Fluent in English (additional languages a plus). Required Education & Certifications: - Minimum Master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Policy, International Relations, Aviation Management, or a related field. - Proven experience (≥10 years) leading large associations, non‑profits, or professional bodies, preferably within aviation, travel, food systems, or sustainability. - Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Project Management, Financial Management) are advantageous.
