Job Description
**Job title** Mechanical Engineer **Role Summary** Design, develop, and deliver offshore wind engineering systems from concept through to manufacturing and commissioning. Own project deliverables, manage supplier progress, produce technical documentation, and ensure products meet performance, safety, and schedule targets. **Expectations** - Complete projects on spec, within budget, and on time. - Maintain high technical quality across all phases of the design cycle. - Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders. - Demonstrate initiative, persistence, and adaptability to change. **Key Responsibilities** - Create innovative systems using first‑principle design and detailed engineering. - Prepare design calculations, technical drawings, and documentation for peer review. - Verify third‑party designs and documentation. - Plan and conduct testing, commissioning, and mobilisation activities. - Schedule and coordinate delivery of supplier components; conduct regular meetings and site visits. - Liaise with finance, HSSEQ, and other business functions for guidance and support. - Mentor and share knowledge in working groups and presentations. **Required Skills** - Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor and CAD tools. - Strong hand‑calculation skillset, including use of Staad and finite element analysis (FEA). - Excellent written and verbal communication. - Project management fundamentals (scheduling, cost control, risk mitigation). - Problem‑solving and lateral thinking to overcome technical obstacles. - Detail‑oriented and self‑motivated. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Offshore Engineering, Marine Engineering, or Naval Architecture. - Valid professional engineering registration or equivalent qualification highly desirable.
