**Job Title**
Business Continuity Engineer
**Role Summary**
Designs, tests and documents business continuity and disaster recovery (BC/DR) for Microsoft 365 and Azure environments. Owns standards, audit readiness, and incident response integration while driving resilience across infrastructure and identity services.
**Expectations**
- Deliver a validated continuity strategy for top‑tier services within the first year.
- Achieve monthly improvement in backup/restore success rates and maintain documented metrics.
- Pass ISO 27001 compliance audits focused on continuity controls.
- Complete at least two end‑to‑end DR exercises and close all identified actions.
- Provide stakeholders with clear, cost‑benefit‑driven updates that increase confidence in organizational resilience.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Own BC/DR lifecycle for Microsoft 365 and Azure services, establishing and maintaining RTO/RPO targets.
2. Conduct backup strategy planning, immutable copy implementation, off–site retention, and routine recovery testing.
3. Support infrastructure and architecture delivery across servers, storage, networking, and identity platforms.
4. Maintain risk and compliance records; prepare audit evidence for ISO 27001 controls.
5. Author, update, and approve runbooks, process guides, and policy documents through change management.
6. Track cyber‑risk items, develop mitigation plans, and report status to stakeholders.
7. Lead DR exercises and tabletop tests, capture improvement actions, and enforce closure.
8. Present options and impact assessments to senior stakeholders; recommend cost‑effective resilience enhancements.
9. Collaborate with Security, Service Desk, and vendors to resolve incidents and close problem tickets.
**Required Skills**
- Azure and Microsoft 365 platform expertise.
- Proven design and delivery of enterprise‑scale disaster recovery, backup, and restoration.
- Strong foundation in infrastructure, storage, networking, and identity services.
- Working knowledge of ISO 27001 controls and audit evidence gathering.
- Process and documentation skills: create runbooks, change requests, policy documents, and obtain approvals.
- Effective communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Experience conducting testing, analyzing results, and driving continuous improvement.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Azure Administrator Associate or equivalent practical experience.
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate (or related certification) or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of ISO 27001 audit processes.
