Job Description
Job Title: Energy Investment Partner Role Summary: Senior professional responsible for sourcing, structuring, and managing late‑stage energy transition investments, driving both strategic and financial value creation across a portfolio of energy assets. Leads complex transactions, aligns stakeholders, and shapes overall investment thesis in partnership with corporate executives. Expectations: - Deliver superior financial returns (ROIC) through rigorous due diligence and operational improvement. - Maintain a proprietary pipeline of high‑quality opportunities and negotiate deals in the $50M–$500M+ range. - Serve as the primary liaison between the investment function, corporate partner’s executive committees, and portfolio company leadership. - Mentor and manage cross‑functional deal teams, ensuring collaboration across regions and disciplines. Key Responsibilities: - Source and evaluate late‑stage investment opportunities, building a proprietary pipeline through industry relationships and market intelligence. - Structure, negotiate, and close investment and acquisition transactions; draft and review term sheets, definitive agreements, and related legal documentation. - Present investment recommendations and deep‑dive findings to corporate executive committees and boards. - Coordinate due diligence with external legal counsel, technical advisors, and consultants to ensure comprehensive assessment. - Oversee portfolio companies to maximize operational performance, implement strategic growth plans, and realize commercial synergies. - Lead development of the firm’s energy investment thesis, identifying next‑generation market trends and proprietary themes. - Act as bridge between the startup ecosystem, investment bankers, and corporate innovation teams. Required Skills: - Deep domain expertise in energy transition infrastructure (hydrogen, CCUS, grid modernization, advanced storage). - Strong track record in power generation & renewables (utility‑scale solar/wind, power trading, IPP model). - Proven experience in oil & gas midstream/downstream operations and decarbonization technologies. - Advanced financial modeling, valuation (LBO, DCF, comparables), and complex transaction structuring. - Excellent oral and written communication for executive and board‑level presentations. - Leadership and team‑building capability across international jurisdictions.
