Senior National Account Manager
Job Description
**Job Title:** Senior National Account Manager **Role Summary:** Senior commercial leader responsible for full ownership of major UK grocery retail accounts. Drives profitable growth, develops and executes long‑term joint business plans, leads pricing and range negotiations, and delivers innovation‑focused private‑label solutions in the chilled and frozen food categories. Acts as the primary internal voice of the customer and collaborates with NPD, supply‑chain, technical and operations teams. **Expectations:** - Achieve revenue, margin and budget targets for assigned accounts. - Own P&L performance, forecasting and financial reporting. - Build and maintain senior‑level relationships with retailers (e.g., Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, M&S). - Lead commercial negotiations and strategic planning autonomously from a home‑based setting, with occasional on‑site visits. - Translate market trends and consumer insights into viable product opportunities. **Key Responsibilities:** - Full commercial ownership of major grocery accounts. - Develop and implement joint business plans aligned with retailer strategies. - Negotiate pricing, promotions, assortment and range strategies. - Manage forecasting, budgeting and P&L accountability. - Partner with NPD to drive customer‑focused innovation and new product development. - Analyse market trends and consumer data to identify growth opportunities. - Serve as the internal champion for retailer needs across cross‑functional teams. **Required Skills:** - Proven experience as a National Account Manager or Senior NAM in UK grocery retail. - Strong track record in private‑label chilled and/or frozen foods. - Expertise in commercial negotiations and strategic account planning. - Highly analytical, commercially astute, and results‑driven. - Excellent relationship‑building and stakeholder‑management abilities at senior level. - Self‑motivated, organized and comfortable working independently (home‑based). - Collaborative leadership style with influence across functions. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Food Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience). - Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CPM, CIPS) are advantageous but not mandatory.
