Job Description
**Job Title** Electronics Development Engineer **Role Summary** Design, develop, and validate embedded electronic systems and associated firmware/software for scientific instrumentation and R&D products. Participate in all phases from concept to production, including PCB design, component selection, assembly, testing, calibration, documentation, and vendor coordination. **Expectations** - Deliver high‑quality, manufacturable designs on schedule, meeting all functional and regulatory requirements. - Communicate progress, issues, and solutions promptly to stakeholders and cross‑functional teams. - Maintain rigorous documentation, uphold confidentiality, and promote lean, organized workspaces. **Key Responsibilities** - Design and prototype electronic systems, select components, and specify product requirements. - Develop and authenticate firmware/software (LabVIEW, Python, C/C++) for embedded controllers, DAQs, FPGAs, and sensors. - Assemble and test PCB prototypes; perform debugging, troubleshooting, and calibration of instruments. - Write technical specifications, design reviews, production travel documents, and user manuals. - Validate electrical designs per APEGA for manufacturing. - Engage with vendors, negotiate custom solutions, and evaluate supplier capabilities. - Advocate for and maintain lean practice, clean workstations, and production tool readiness. **Required Skills** - 5+ years in embedded system design, instrumentation, or electronic circuit development. - Strong PCB design, assembly, and component verification experience. - Proficient programming in LabVIEW, Python, and C/C++; familiarity with version control. - Hands‑on knowledge of control systems, DAQs, MCUs, SBCs, FPGAs, sensors, actuators, and communication interfaces. - Experience with CE, CSA, UL, NRTL certifications. - Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, written, and verbal communication skills in English. **Required Education & Certifications** - B.Sc./M.Sc./Ph.D. in Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Engineering. - Professional Engineer (PE) designation preferred.
