**Job Title**
Data Governance & Management Lead
**Role Summary**
Lead the design, implementation, and enforcement of an enterprise data governance and privacy framework. Champion data quality, regulatory compliance, and lifecycle management to support business intelligence and AI initiatives. Collaborate cross‑functionally with Data & AI, Cybersecurity, IT, Legal, and engineering teams to embed governance into processes, tooling, and culture.
**Expectations**
- Define and maintain enterprise data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
- Design end‑to‑end data governance and management solutions aligned with regulatory expectations.
- Implement data stewardship, catalog, quality monitoring, and DLP tools (e.g., TrustArc, Collibra, Alation).
- Establish and track KPI metrics to gauge program maturity.
- Participate in AI, Information Risk Council, and IT Governance Council.
- Ensure compliance with GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and internal policies.
- Partner with legal, engineering, and security teams to assess data risks, set access controls, and retention policies.
- Conduct regular compliance audits and report findings.
- Develop training and awareness programs for governance and privacy.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Develop, maintain, and champion the enterprise data governance framework.
2. Design governance architecture and select tooling for data catalogs, lineage, quality, and DLP.
3. Serve as principal data steward, overseeing policy enforcement and tool adoption.
4. Lead DLP strategy and implementation.
5. Define, monitor, and report program KPIs and maturity.
6. Engage in governance councils and provide insights on data risk.
7. Ensure global/regional compliance; collaborate with Legal, Systems, Engineering, and Cybersecurity.
8. Conduct audits, manage findings, and drive remediation.
9. Draft and enforce data retention and archival policies.
10. Educate stakeholders through training and communications.
**Required Skills**
- Expert knowledge of data governance, quality, metadata, and lineage.
- Proficiency with governance/DLP platforms (TrustArc, Collibra, Alation, etc.).
- Strong database (SQL, NoSQL) and data warehouse skill set, including cloud (AWS, GCP, Snowflake).
- Deep understanding of GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and other data privacy regulations.
- Agile project management experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to explain complex concepts to non‑technical audiences.
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder influence skills.
- Proven leadership in managing projects, priorities, and cross‑functional teams.
- Analytical and problem‑solving competency.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Management, or related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in data management, BI, or related areas, with at least 5 years focused on data governance and policy implementation.
- Certifications in data governance/DLP (e.g., CSG, CDMP) or data privacy (e.g., GDPR Practitioner) preferred.
