Job Title: Computer Operations Engineer
Role Summary: Oversee, monitor, and optimize IT infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and security across multi‑platform environments.
Expectations: Deliver proactive system monitoring, incident resolution, and continuous improvement within fast‑changing production environments; collaborate across development, security, and support teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor system performance and availability using Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana.
- Administer Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS) and Windows Server (2008/2012/2016) environments, applying patches and security updates.
- Manage networking (LAN, VPN, VLAN, Wi‑Fi) and enforce security controls such as firewalls, MFA, and IAM tools.
- Automate operational tasks with Bash, PowerShell, Ansible, Puppet, Chef.
- Deploy and maintain virtualized infrastructures (VMware ESXi, Hyper‑V, Docker) and supervise server clusters.
- Conduct backup and disaster‑recovery operations, ensuring data integrity and rapid restoration.
- Resolve production incidents, coordinate with development and ops teams, and continuously post‑mortem.
- Maintain ticketing workflows in Jira, ServiceNow, GLPI.
Required Skills: Systems (Linux, Windows Server), Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLAN, Wi‑Fi), Security (firewalls, MFA, IAM, backup), Virtualization (VMware, Hyper‑V, Docker), Automation (Bash, PowerShell, Ansible, Puppet, Chef), DB management (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server).
Required Education & Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent; industry certifications such as MCSE, VCP, Linux Professional Institute, or equivalent in monitoring and automation.
