Job Description
Job title: Litigation Associate Role Summary: Provides defense counsel for individuals and organizations involved in class actions, regulatory investigations, and complex data privacy and cybersecurity matters, working primarily under the guidance of a supervising partner. Expactations: - 4–6 years of experience as an associate in a litigation practice group. - Active bar admission in Pennsylvania (or original state of residence); additional state licenses are a plus. - Proven experience in class‑action or complex litigation with a defensive focus. - Familiarity with large e‑discovery workflows and document production. - Strong courtroom, oral advocacy, and regulatory investigation exposure preferred. - Excellent research, writing, strategic analysis, and client‑communication skills. Key Responsibilities: - Manage day‑to‑day work on class actions and privacy‑related litigation, including preparation of pleadings and discovery documents. - Represent clients before regulatory bodies and in investigative proceedings. - Oversee document collection, review, and production; vet experts and vendors. - Participate in civil proceedings as co‑Counsel or second chair; support supervising partner in arguments and hearings. - Ensure timely client reporting and maintain accurate time‑and‑billing records. - Conduct legal research on emerging privacy and cybersecurity issues; brief the team as required. Required Skills: - Litigation strategy and case management. - Advanced drafting and legal research. - Document review and e‑discovery coordination. - Client presentation and courtroom advocacy. - Strong analytical, organizational, and communication abilities. - Initiative, attention to detail, and efficient execution. - Proficiency in time‑tracking and billing software. Required Education & Certifications: - Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. - Admission to practice law in Pennsylvania (or primary state of residence). - Current license to practice law, with additional state bar memberships considered an asset.
