Job Description
Job title: Senior XR Graphics Developer Role Summary: Design, prototype, and optimize high‑performance graphics features for Unity’s XR platforms, ensuring optimal GPU usage and enhancing the rendering pipeline across supported devices. Expectations: Deliver feature implementations that meet performance and quality benchmarks; prototype research‑based techniques on evolving or future hardware; identify and resolve rendering bottlenecks; collaborate in a distributed, diverse team; communicate effectively in English. Key Responsibilities: • Implement new graphics features for Unity XR platforms, targeting optimal UCT/GPU performance. • Prototype research‑driven techniques, including on unannounced hardware. • Optimize rendering systems by diagnosing and eliminating bottlenecks to maintain Unity’s performance leadership. • Maintain core rendering engines: debug, stabilize, and ensure reliability for developers worldwide. Required Skills: • Strong 3D mathematics, rendering algorithms, and shader languages (HLSL/GLSL). • Proficiency with modern graphics APIs (DirectX 12, Vulkan, Metal). • Deep understanding of rendering pipelines, GPU architecture, and performance‑optimization techniques. • Mastery of performance‑analysis tools (PIX, RenderDoc, NVIDIA Nsight, Android GPU Inspector). • Ability to thrive in a distributed, multicultural team and support a global developer community. • (Optional) Experience with XR development in Unity or Unreal, familiarity with Unity’s rendering architecture, and real‑time rendering for interactive 3D applications. Required Education & Certifications: • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Computer Graphics, or a related technical field. • Relevant certifications in graphics programming or engine development are a plus.
