Managing Director, Value Creation – Platform Technology Engineering
**Role Summary**
Lead enterprise‑wide platform and cloud strategy for a global portfolio of portfolio companies, ensuring technology investments drive measurable value, risk mitigation, and exit readiness. Partner with C‑suite leadership, boards, and cross‑functional teams to design, modernize, and operate scalable, secure, and high‑performance technology platforms across major ecosystems (Microsoft, AWS, Google, IBM, Salesforce).
**Expectations**
* Deliver actionable technology roadmaps that translate value‑creation priorities into sequenced investments.
* Influence and secure buy‑in from CEOs, CTOs, CIOs, and boards on platform, cloud, architecture and investment decisions.
* Achieve measurable improvements in performance, operational resilience, and exit value through timely platform transformations.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Advise portfolio companies on platform, cloud, and architecture strategy across hyper‑seller and enterprise ecosystems.
2. Conduct due diligence on technology health: platform maturity, cloud architecture, security posture, and delivery risk.
3. Translate assessment findings into practical, business‑oriented recommendations.
4. Define and enforce architecture standards for scalability, security, and operability.
5. Champion large‑scale modernization initiatives: cloud migration, DevOps/DevSecOps adoption, engineering productivity, and application rationalization.
6. Provide guidance on AI, automation, and data use cases aligned to business outcomes.
7. Collaborate with Centres of Excellence, external advisors, and deal teams to deliver integrated value‑creation solutions.
**Required Skills**
* 15+ years of senior technology or product leadership, preferably in consulting, large‑scale transformation, or complex operating environments.
* Deep expertise in hyper‑seller and enterprise platforms (Microsoft, AWS, Google, IBM, Salesforce).
* Proven capabilities in platform engineering, cloud architecture, DevOps/DevSecOps, and delivery model transformation.
* Strong assessment and risk‑analysis skills, with the ability to communicate findings to C‑suite stakeholders.
* Demonstrated success in influencing boards and executive leaders on architecture, cloud, and investment decisions.
* Ability to adapt proven patterns to diverse industries and asset classes.
* Pragmatic balance of innovation, speed, and risk management.
* Fluency in emerging technologies such as AI and automation, with a focus on application.
**Required Education & Certifications**
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
* Professional certifications in cloud (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Architect) and/or platform engineering are highly desirable.
