**Job Title:**
User Researcher – Merchant Experience, Alibaba.com
**Role Summary:**
Lead end‑to‑end merchant‑focused research on Alibaba.com, translating data into actionable insights that shape product strategy, enhance user experience, and drive business growth. Works cross‑functionally with project teams, stakeholders, and other research peers while mentoring junior researchers.
**Expectations:**
- Minimum 5 years of professional user research experience, preferably from well‑known research/consulting firms.
- Strong foundation in psychology, sociology, or statistics.
- Proficiency in both qualitative (IDIs, FGDs, ethnography) and quantitative (surveys, analytics) methods.
- Advanced data analysis skills (SQL, SPSS, R, or similar).
- Excellent written and verbal communication; fluency in English required.
- Experience in domestic/cross‑border e‑commerce, retail, or trade sectors is a plus.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Design, plan, and execute merchant research projects across the platform.
- Define research scope, develop methodologies, manage timelines, and ensure high‑quality deliverables.
- Analyze data, synthesize findings, and produce reports with strategic recommendations.
- Convert insights into actionable product or policy changes aligned with business goals.
- Maintain strong relationships with core stakeholders and cross‑functional partners.
- Stay current on industry trends and propose high‑value research initiatives.
- Supervise and mentor junior researchers, fostering professional growth.
**Required Skills:**
- User‑research design and execution (IDIs, FGDs, surveys, diary studies).
- Qualitative coding and thematic analysis.
- Statistical analysis and data visualization.

**Required Education & Certifications:**
