Job Description

**Job Title:** Software Design Engineer (Electronics) **Role Summary:** Develop and maintain embedded firmware for electronics, troubleshoot code issues, support product testing, and collaborate on R&D for new technologies. Requires hands-on electronics expertise and problem-solving in software-hardware integration. **Expectations:** Own tasks from design to resolution, manage software revisions, and support team/production needs while adhering to technical and documentation standards. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design, update, and debug embedded firmware for specialized electronics using C/C++ - Diagnose software and hardware faults in returned products and during production - Conduct product testing to validate functionality and test procedures - Contribute to R&D for emerging technologies and future product development - Maintain organized software libraries with clear revision tracking and documentation - Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders on technical and customer queries **Required Skills:** - Embedded firmware development (IAR C/C++) and debugging for PCBs - Electronics troubleshooting/fault diagnosis with schematics - Hands-on soldering and lab equipment use (oscilloscopes, multimeters) - Proficiency in code documentation and version control - Familiarity with PCB design tools (KiCAD) **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field - Experience with Texas Instruments MSP430 microcontrollers - Security clearance (advantageous; client can provide if needed)
