Job title: QA Engineer
Role Summary:
Execute end‑to‑end quality assurance for sprint‑level user stories within Agile squads. Own test planning, manual/exploratory execution, and early‑stage automation to ensure functional, integration, and API coverage. Act as a QA owner, driving Shift‑Left practices, defect triage, and quality governance, while collaborating closely with developers, product owners, and UX/UI teams.
Expectations:
- Deliver complete test coverage for all assigned stories every sprint.
- Write and maintain high‑quality, automation‑ready test cases.
- Lead defect triage, root‑cause analysis, and resolution in partnership with developers.
- Continuously improve testing processes, frameworks, and squad quality metrics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own sprint‑level QA: test planning, story testability reviews, manual/exploratory runs, and automation implementation.
- Collaborate Shift‑Left with developers: review acceptance criteria, propose testability improvements, and write automation early.
- Maintain squad regression checklist and nominate regression candidates.
- Track quality signals (coverage, pass/fail, leakage, flakiness) and contribute to dashboards.
- Conduct defect triage, ensure accurate severity/priority, and facilitate root‑cause analysis.
- Execute manual and automated tests using Selenium, Postman, Gherkin/Java.
- Identify and resolve flaky tests, propose stabilization fixes.
- Coach junior testers, participate in Agile ceremonies, and contribute to squad retrospectives.
- Support beta and pre‑release activities for squad‑owned features.
Required Skills:
- 3–6 years QA experience in SaaS or similar environments.
- Proficiency with Selenium, Postman, Gherkin, Java, and Azure DevOps.
- Strong test planning, execution, and automation skills.
- Solid understanding of SDLC, Agile, and Shift‑Left testing.
- Analytical mindset, excellent communication, and ability to collaborate early with developers.
- Capacity to manage multiple stories and integration points within a squad.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- ISTQB Foundation, CTFL, CTFL‑AT, CTFL‑TTA, or Agile Testing/DevOps/Automation certifications (beneficial).
