Job Title: Senior Data Business Analyst
Role Summary: Owns the discovery, definition, and delivery of data‑centric projects within a Change and Transformation function, driving data processes, BI initiatives, and business analysis framework evolution.
Expectations: Deliver multiple data and BI projects on scope, budget, and schedule; build and mature the data business analysis capability; translate complex business needs into actionable technical solutions; embed project outputs into day‑to‑day operations; continuously improve analysis, tools, and governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead initiation, discovery, and delivery of data & BI projects, controlling scope, budget, and timelines.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to capture clear requirements (data models, flows, wireframes, reports).
- Partner with Data Engineering and BI teams to design and implement data pipelines, reporting solutions, and analytical models.
- Analyse data sources, quality, lineage, and enforce data governance standards.
- Translate business needs into technical solutions, acting as bridge between business and technical teams.
- Drive improvements in business analysis processes, tools, and governance for data & BI delivery.
- Support embedding of deliverables into business‑as‑usual operations.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as Senior Data Business Analyst or in complex, data‑driven environments.
- Deep knowledge of the Lloyd's/London Market data landscape.
- Strong proficiency in BI and data technologies (SQL, SSRS, Power BI) and relational database/reporting architecture.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to produce clear visual documentation (data flows, wireframes, models).
- Familiarity with modern collaboration and delivery tools (Miro, Test Monitor, Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence).
Required Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Finance, or related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, Certified Business Analysis Professional) preferred.
