Job Title: Reporting Data Analyst
Role Summary: Partner with Property & Casualty insurance business groups to define, develop, and validate reporting and data extract requirements, leveraging expertise in enterprise data warehouses and key source systems. Act as subject-matter expert on data logic, metrics, and dimensional modeling to ensure accurate, compliant, and governance‑aligned reporting outputs.
Expections: Deliver high‑quality reports, SQL queries, and semantic objects within agreed timelines; maintain data quality and integrity across source systems and the data warehouse; support UAT and discrepancy resolution; educate stakeholders on data interpretation; manage self‑directed work with minimal oversight.
Key Responsibilities:
• Act as data and domain SME for P&C insurance areas (policy, claims, financials).
• Gather, clarify, and validate reporting and extract requirements with business stakeholders.
• Translate business concepts into data logic, metrics, and dimensional definitions.
• Leverage knowledge of source systems (Guidewire, Genius, SAP) for correct data interpretation and lineage.
• Create, test, and certify SQL queries, views, and semantic‑layer objects against the enterprise data warehouse.
• Ensure reports meet approved business definitions, regulatory needs, and data governance standards.
• Review reports for accuracy, reconciliation, and consistency; document data definitions, business rules, and assumptions.
• Support UAT, investigate discrepancies, and drive resolution between source and warehouse data.
• Educate users on proper use and interpretation of insurance data.
Required Skills:
• 8+ years as an IT reporting/data analyst, 4+ years in P&C insurance reporting.
• 3+ years experience with Strategy (MicroStrategy), Power BI, or similar BI tool.
• Strong SQL expertise and ability to query enterprise data warehouses.
• Proficiency in dimensional modeling and enterprise reporting concepts.
• Working knowledge of Guidewire (Policy, Billing, Claims), Genius, and SAP.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to engage senior stakeholders.
• Self‑motivated, initiative‑driven, comfortable handling ambiguity.
Required Education & Certifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field, or equivalent experience. No additional certifications required.
