The first half of this quote is the part which seems to have made its way into popular culture, but the second half is often forgotten about. And in truth, at Decipher Marketing we don’t agree with the second half – instead, we’d like to make an alteration:

Job Description
Job Title: Junior Marketing Executive Role Summary: Support the full lifecycle of digital marketing campaigns for live UK clients, including creation, execution, monitoring, and optimisation of Meta paid social and Google PPC assets under close mentorship. Expectations: Quick learner with strong detail orientation, independent thinker, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and willingness to take ownership of campaign performance. Key Responsibilities: • Build and launch landing pages and ad creatives (static, video, copy). • Monitor and optimise paid social and search campaigns to meet or exceed KPIs. • Perform quality checks on all assets before launch. • Report on campaign performance and communicate updates to Head of Marketing. • Contribute creative ideas for copy, creative, and strategy. • Develop broader digital marketing skills across paid social, SEO, and analytics. Required Skills: • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or equivalent. • Basic technical competency with ad platforms; experience with Meta Ads Manager and Google Ads is a plus. • Strong attention to detail and organisational ability. • Excellent written and verbal communication, including clarity and precision. • Adaptable, self‑motivated, and comfortable learning new tools quickly. Required Education & Certifications: • High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field is preferred. • No mandatory industry certifications required at entry level.
