Job Description
Job Title: Waiter/Waitress Role Summary: Deliver outstanding front‑of‑house service in a high‑volume pub setting. Act as the welcoming face of the establishment, manage order flow, coordinate with kitchen and F&B teams, and ensure a smooth, memorable dining experience for guests. Expectations: • Complete part‑time fixed‑term contract (18‑hour shifts) until mid‑September 2026. • Work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends. • Attend and pass training sessions to learn menu, POS system, and service standards. • Demonstrate a professional, positive attitude in all interactions. • Adhere to health, safety, and hygiene protocols. Key Responsibilities: • Greet guests promptly, manage seating, and present menus. • Explain menu items, answer questions, and offer recommendations. • Take accurate orders via POS, relay to kitchen/serve. • Present dishes and beverages, ensuring correct presentation and timing. • Handle payments, process receipts, and manage cash or card transactions. • Maintain clean, organized dining area, including tables, glassware, and service stations. • Communicate effectively with kitchen, bar, and management to resolve service issues. • Monitor guest satisfaction, addressing concerns promptly. • Participate in team meetings, shift handovers, and training updates. Required Skills: • Excellent verbal communication and customer‑service skills. • Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment. • Strong teamwork and collaboration with kitchen, bar, and management staff. • Basic POS and cash handling proficiency. • Attention to detail, including presentation and hygiene standards. • Flexibility to work varied shifts and adapt to changing workload. • Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and professional appearance. Required Education & Certifications: • Minimum of secondary education or equivalent. • No mandatory certifications; on‑the‑job training will cover POS, health & safety, and service protocols.
