Job title: Graduate – Stress Testing
Role Summary
Support the development, maintenance, and execution of the European Investment Bank’s Group Solvency Stress Testing Framework and Programme, ensuring compliance with market and regulatory developments and internal standards.
Expectations
- Graduate with a Bachelor’s or equivalent (Business, Economics, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, or related).
- Up to 2 years of post‑graduation professional experience.
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and IT skills; familiarity with banking stress‑testing methods is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assist in planning and implementing the annual Group Solvency Stress Testing Programme and ad‑hoc test requests.
2. Prepare, reconcile, and analyze data; perform stress‑test calculations for key solvency metrics.
3. Review executed stress tests and, under guidance, draft analytical findings.
4. Produce presentations and briefing materials for the Solvency Stress Testing Steering Committee, Management Committee, and Risk Policy Committee.
5. Maintain and update the Group Stress Testing Framework, policies, and procedures.
6. Evaluate the impact of new business developments or modelling initiatives on stress‑testing outcomes.
7. Contribute to automation of stress‑testing processes and enhancement of IT/data infrastructure for independent runs and sensitivity analyses.
8. Coordinate the Division’s work plan and liaise with internal stakeholders.
9. Support the development of Climate Risk Stress Testing and its integration into the solvency framework.
10. Address audit points, validation recommendations, and REP feedback related to stress‑testing activities.
Required Skills
- Quantitative and analytical expertise; understanding of complex financial structures.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and recent developments (e.g., Basel III, IFRS 9).
- Experience with large data sets and solid IT background (VBA, SAS, Python, MATLAB, R).
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic programming.
- Excellent command of English and/or French; additional EU languages are an advantage.
Required Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Economics, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, or a related discipline.
- No mandatory certifications; relevant banking, finance, or data‑analysis qualifications are advantageous.
