Job Title: VP, Data DevOps Engineering
Role Summary:
Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of CI/CD pipelines for enterprise data solutions, ensuring fast, secure, and reliable deployment across environments while embedding data quality and governance checks.
Expectations:
* Deliver high‑quality data pipelines within tight timelines.
* Demonstrate independence with minimal supervision.
* Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and senior stakeholders.
* Communicate technical concepts clearly to all levels.
* Drive strategic initiatives and propose process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design, deploy, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for data products using GitHub Actions, Airflow, or equivalent.
2. Integrate data transformation tools (DBT, Snowflake, Python, Streamlit, Talend, Power BI, Alteryx) into pipelines.
3. Containerize applications and orchestrate with Kubernetes (AKS or equivalent).
4. Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting to guarantee pipeline health.
5. Perform root‑cause analysis for failures, troubleshoot, and propose enhancements.
6. Coordinate release management and change approvals with governance boards.
7. Conduct workshops and training for engineers on DevOps best practices and pipeline usage.
8. Stay current on emerging technologies and recommend adoption to improve security, auditability, and performance.
Required Skills:
* Proven expertise in DevOps practices and cloud infrastructure for data pipelines.
* Mastery of GitHub for version control, collaboration, and automation.
* Strong containerization skills with Docker/Podman and Kubernetes.
* Proficient with DBT, Snowflake, Python, Airflow, Jira, ServiceNow.
* Experience with data warehouse platforms (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Azure Synapse).
* Excellent problem‑solving, project management, and communication abilities.
Required Education & Certifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
* 6+ years in data management, analytics, governance, operations, or engineering.
* 3+ years of DevOps experience in a data environment.
* Data development certification (e.g., Snow Pro) preferred.
