Job Title: IT Systems Lead Engineer
Role Summary: Lead the design, deployment, and ongoing management of core IT infrastructure for a privately‑owned business. Ensure systems are reliable, secure, and scalable while delivering high‑level technical support and mentoring to internal teams.
Expactations: Own architecture and day‑to‑day operations of the company's IT environment, including Windows, Linux, and virtualized platforms. Drive continuous improvement, performance tuning, and compliance with security policies. Serve as the escalation point for complex technical issues and provide guidance for cross‑functional projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable, high‑availability network, server, and storage solutions.
- Manage virtualization environments (VMware, Hyper‑V, or equivalent) and cloud services.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot incidents, and coordinate root‑cause analysis.
- Apply security best practices, conduct vulnerability scans, and enforce patch management.
- Develop and maintain documentation for architecture, procedures, and configuration management.
- Collaborate with application and security teams to align infrastructure with business objectives.
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers and support staff.
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, and network protocols.
- Experience with virtualization (VMware, Hyper‑V) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Expertise in backup/restore solutions, disaster recovery, and high‑availability design.
- Familiarity with infrastructure monitoring (Prometheus, Nagios, or similar).
- Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
- Solid understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals and compliance standards.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and project management abilities.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, VMware Certified Professional (VCP), or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE).
