Job Description
**Job title:** IT Support Technician **Role Summary:** Deliver remote IT support to a distributed workforce of 400+ staff and 8,000 students, handling a varied ticket volume. Manage, maintain and troubleshoot IT hardware and software assets, primarily Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365 and Adobe Connect, while ensuring accurate documentation and smooth escalation to internal or external teams. Act as a first‑line contact, providing timely resolution and maintaining high user satisfaction in a dynamic e‑learning environment. **Expactations:** * Prior experience as an IT support technician is essential. * Demonstrated, in‑depth knowledge of Windows 10/11 and Microsoft 365 suites. * Structured, logical problem‑solving skills with a methodical approach to troubleshooting. * Strong administrative abilities with meticulous attention to record‑keeping. * Calm, empathetic communication and the capacity to manage user expectations. * Collaborative mindset with a willingness to share knowledge and best practices. **Key Responsibilities:** * Log, prioritize, and resolve support tickets using the ticketing system. * Provide remote assistance to staff and students via remote‑desktop tools or phone. * Deploy, configure, and maintain IT hardware (laptops, peripherals, networking devices). * Administer and maintain IT assets, ensuring up‑to‑date inventories and warranties. * Troubleshoot software issues, including Microsoft 365 applications and Adobe Connect. * Escalate complex problems to specialized internal teams or third‑party vendors. * Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date documentation of support activities and IT asset data. **Required Skills:** * Proficiency with Windows 10/11 and Microsoft 365 environments. * Experience troubleshooting Office 365/Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, and Adobe Connect. * Familiarity with hardware deployment, network basics (Wi‑Fi, VPN), and peripheral configuration. * Strong verbal and written communication; ability to translate technical concepts for non‑technical users. * Empathy, patience, and the ability to handle multiple requests concurrently. * Team player who contributes ideas and fosters a collaborative support culture. **Required Education & Certifications:** * Minimum of a secondary education diploma or equivalent. * Professional IT certifications preferred: CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, or Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate. * Successful completion of background checks and an enhanced DBS disclosure.
