Job Description
**Job Title:** Underwriting Assistant **Role Summary:** Provides essential administrative and analytical support to underwriters during the underwriting cycle. Responsibilities include reviewing new and renewal submissions, conducting vulnerability and ransomware checks, preparing quotes, ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines, and maintaining broker/client relationships. **Expectations:** - Deliver accurate, timely support within set underwriting limits. - Maintain strong communication with brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders. - Adhere to underwriting controls, service level agreements, and company policies. - Collaborate effectively in team meetings and training sessions. **Key Responsibilities:** - Review and evaluate underwriting submissions for risk suitability. - Perform vulnerability scanning and ransomware application checks on submissions. - Prepare and process quotes and documentation in accordance with underwriting guidelines. - Verify pricing, binding conditions, and policy changes. - Serve as first point of contact for broker and client inquiries. - Maintain and update account activity records. - Ensure compliance with underwriting controls and SLA metrics. - Attend training, contribute to team meetings, and share best practices. **Required Skills:** - Strong analytical and detail-oriented mindset. - Excellent written and verbal communication. - Time‑management and task prioritization. - Proficient in MS Office; data entry accuracy. - Ability to work independently and in collaboration with cross‑functional teams. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Minimum of a secondary school diploma (high‑school level) or equivalent. - Prior experience in insurance or financial services preferred. - Prior experience as an Underwriting Assistant or equivalent advantageous.
