**Job Title:** Assistant Security Manager
**Role Summary:**
Provide supervisory oversight of the security workforce at Orlando International Airport (MCO), ensuring compliance with GOAA Post Orders and contract terms. Support the Site Manager with administrative, training, performance management, and customer service functions while maintaining personnel records and emergency readiness.
**Expactations:**
- Uphold 100% compliance with GOAA Post Orders and contract requirements.
- Maintain accurate employee records in hard copy and CAS HRIS.
- Respond to emergencies 24/7 and act as a customer‑service champion for passengers, airport staff, and GOAA management.
- Collaborate with Site Manager on staffing, scheduling, performance assessments, disciplinary actions, and goal setting.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Monitor daily security operations to ensure adherence to post orders and 49 CFR Part 1542 standards.
- Assist in hiring, badging, assigning work, and scheduling security staff.
- Conduct performance inspections, provide corrective actions, and identify training needs.
- Develop, update, and implement security procedures and safety rules.
- Resolve employee complaints, recommend promotions, and coordinate disciplinary actions with HR.
- Prepare and maintain employee files, conduct audits, and manage HRIS data entry.
- Serve as primary liaison between CAS, GOAA management, airport employees, and passengers.
- Support OIA scheduling to guarantee appropriate staffing levels and manage leave accommodations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
**Required Skills:**
- In‑depth knowledge of GOAA Post Orders, aviation security regulations (49 CFR Part 1542), and contract compliance.
- Strong supervisory, coaching, and performance‑management abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; customer‑service focus.
- Proficient in HRIS data entry, record‑keeping, and auditing.
- Ability to assess and resolve employee issues and enforce disciplinary measures.
- Organizational and scheduling expertise; ability to prioritize tasks under pressure.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Security Administration, Public Administration, or related field *or* equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Minimum 3 years progressive security experience (law enforcement, military, or security); supervisory experience preferred, especially in a 49 CFR Part 1542 regulated airport or government facility.
- Valid State of Florida Class “MB” license.
- Valid driver’s license (airport driver‑training completion required).
- U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, or Lawful Permanent Resident.
- Ability to pass drug screen, background check, and comply with Drug‑Free Workplace policy.
