Job Description
Job Title: Junior Buyer Role Summary: Support the women's nightwear and jersey buying team by executing the product strategy, managing the critical path from development to shipment, and ensuring the right product at the right price and timing to maximize sales. Expectations: - Deliver category-level results and achieve department targets. - Build and maintain productive supplier relationships. - Work independently under tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. Key Responsibilities: - Collaborate with the senior buyer to set and deliver the ladieswear strategy. - Negotiate cost prices, units, and lead times with suppliers. - Manage brand assets and critical path activities for the range. - Analyse weekly trade reports, identify actions, and present findings. - Conduct regular competitive shop studies. - Attend sign‑off meetings, strategy sessions, and weekly fits with QC and design. - Manage own assigned categories within ladieswear. - Travel to factories and showrooms to source new products and strengthen supplier relationships. Required Skills: - Minimum 1 year of buying experience in fashion or a related field. - Experience or focus on nightwear and jersey preferred. - Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills. - Commercial acumen – interpret market trends to drive sales. - Keen interest in fashion and trend awareness. - Proficiency in numeracy and analytical reporting. - Initiative and ability to meet deadlines independently. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, Textile Management, or related discipline, or equivalent experience. - No mandatory certifications required.
