Nasittuq Corporation provides in-service support and facility operations and maintenance for the North Warning System. We also have a contract to provide site support and management services for the Ellesmere Island Commercial Support Contract in Alert, Nunavut.

These organizations Include: Inuvialuit Development Corporation (IDC); Nunasi Corporation; Makivik Corporation; the Nunatsiavut Group of Companies (NGC); Qikiqtaaluk Corporation; Sakku Investments Corporation, and Kitikmeot Corporation. PAIL’s first initiative was to pursue the award of the North Warning System operations and maintenance contract through a Joint Venture with ATCO Frontec.

Job Description
**Job Title** Embedded Software Developer (FPGA) **Role Summary** Design, implement, test, and maintain embedded firmware and software for real‑time radar and automated test equipment systems, primarily using Xilinx FPGA/SoC devices and Linux/bare‑metal platforms. Deliver high‑quality, schedule‑driven solutions while creating comprehensive documentation and ensuring adherence to security and safety standards. **Expectations** - Provide accurate time estimates and meet project milestones. - Maintain clear, up‑to‑date technical documentation. - Collaborate with hardware, control, and COTS teams. - Communicate effectively with engineers and non‑technical stakeholders. - Operate within a security‑clearance environment (Canadian citizen, eligible for SECRET clearance). **Key Responsibilities** - Develop FPGA RTL and firmware for radar, control/communication, and ATE systems. - Create device drivers, bootloaders, and Linux kernel modules or bare‑metal applications. - Implement digital‑signal‑processing algorithms and DSP routines. - Support PCB design and electrical testing using multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and power supplies. - Produce test plans, execution reports, and release documentation. - Estimate effort, monitor progress, and adjust schedules as needed. - Mentor junior developers and facilitate knowledge transfer. **Required Skills** - FPGA design (Xilinx) using Verilog/VHDL, or high‑level synthesis. - Embedded C/C++ development for real‑time systems. - Linux kernel or bare‑metal firmware, device driver, and bootloader expertise. - DSP algorithm design and implementation. - Familiarity with PCB design tools (e.g., Altium, OrCAD). - Proficiency with version control (Git, SVN). - Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to document and present technical content. - Experience with electrical test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers). **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field. - Minimum 3 years experience in FPGA or embedded software development. - Diploma in Embedded Systems, FPGA Design, or equivalent is preferred. - Eligibility for Canadian SECRET security clearance (must be a Canadian citizen). ---
