Job Description
Job title: Graduate Knowledge Engineer Role Summary: Graduate Knowledge Engineer develops and maintains knowledge systems for AI and data analytics. Works with cross‑functional teams (UK & US) to model, contextualise, and optimise complex data sets into AI‑ready knowledge graphs delivered via Black Forest™ technology. Expectations: - Deliver high‑quality knowledge representations that enable AI/ML pipelines. - Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to translate business requirements into data models. - Maintain updated documentation and best‑practice guidelines for knowledge engineering. - Achieve and sustain Security Clearance (SC) without caveats. Key Responsibilities: - Design and implement ontologies, graph models, and knowledge representation frameworks (e.g., RDF, OWL, property graphs). - Transform structured, unstructured, geospatial, and temporal data into interconnected knowledge graphs. - Support AI readiness by ensuring data is properly contextualised for RAG, generative AI, and LLM use cases. - Work with Python, SQL, JavaScript, and SPARQL scripts to ingest, query, and manipulate graph data. - Collaborate with cloud, container, and infrastructure teams to deploy and host graph services. - Communicate technical insights to non‑technical stakeholders and provide client‑facing support. - Participate in code reviews, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives. Required Skills: - Foundations in data modelling, ontologies, graph databases, and knowledge representation (RDF/OWL/SPARQL). - Experience with structured, unstructured, geospatial, and temporal data sources. - Understanding of AI/ML, LLM, and RAG concepts in the context of structured data. - Proficiency in Python, SQL; knowledge of JavaScript, SPARQL. - Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and containerisation (desirable). - Strong written and verbal communication; problem‑solving; collaborative teamwork; detail‑oriented. Required Education & Certifications: - 2:1 Bachelor’s degree or Masters in any STEM field. - Eligibility to obtain and maintain SC Security Clearance (UK resident >5 years).
