Job Description
Job title: Analytics Engineer Role Summary: Partner with finance, music operations, acquisitions, and internal data teams to translate business needs into scalable analytics solutions. Design and maintain reporting architecture, build executive dashboards, and own the semantic layer to deliver actionable insights. Expectations: Own end‑to‑end analytics deliverables, continuously improve data models and reporting, collaborate across functions, adhere to software engineering best practices, and turn data into business‑impactful decisions. Key Responsibilities: - Partner with Finance, Music Ops, Acquisitions, and other stakeholders to identify reporting needs and data gaps. - Translate business questions into scalable, data‑ready solutions in partnership with internal data teams. - Analyze and integrate disparate datasets to create niche reporting tables and insights. - Develop, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries and reporting tables; recommend model improvements. - Design and build scalable reporting architecture supporting evolving analytics needs. - Design and develop executive dashboards and KPI frameworks for real‑time visibility. - Apply software engineering practices (version control, CI) to analytics code and conduct code reviews. - Optimize SQL performance, including Sigma‑specific tuning. - Maintain data documentation, definitions, and governance standards. - Perform additional duties as assigned. Required Skills: - Strong SQL proficiency; experience with data modeling, semantic layers, and performance tuning. - Proficiency in Python or R for analytical programming (preferred). - Dashboard development experience in Tableau or Sigma. - Knowledge of software engineering best practices: version control, continuous integration, code reviews. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with strong communication and cross‑functional collaboration. - Analytical mindset: navigate ambiguity, integrate datasets, build targeted reporting tables, executive dashboards, and KPIs. - Understanding of translating insights into business value and competitive advantage. - Eagerness to learn new technologies and business domains. - Knowledge of the music industry is a plus. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related quantitative field (Master’s or advanced certification preferred).
