Job Title: Sales Manager – UK Metals Expo
Role Summary:
Drive revenue growth for the UK Metals Expo by selling exhibition space, sponsorships, and digital opportunities to the metals and manufacturing ecosystem. Responsible for new business development, portfolio management, and achieving personal sales targets within a performance‑driven environment.
Expectations:
- Meet or exceed personal revenue targets for stand space, sponsorship, and digital products.
- Hit daily activity KPIs (≈40 outbound calls, 90 min talking time, 15+ meaningful interactions).
- Maintain an accurate pipeline and provide regular forecasting and reporting.
- Travel within the UK for client meetings, the Expo, and competitor events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prospect and secure new B2B clients through outbound calling, email, social selling, and video meetings.
- Manage and grow existing exhibitor and sponsor accounts, focusing on renewals, upsells, and multi‑year agreements.
- Sell a full range of offerings: exhibition stands, floorplan optimisation, theatre and feature sponsorships, networking branding, and year‑round digital and lead‑generation products.
- Build rapport with senior decision‑makers across metals producers, stockholders, processors, fabricators, machinery & technology suppliers, logistics, recyclers, and service providers.
- Prepare and deliver tailored proposals, close deals, and oversee contract execution.
- Work with Event Director, marketing, operations, and customer success to align campaigns, messaging, and the customer journey.
- Monitor market trends (sustainability, circular economy, net zero, supply chain resilience) to inform sales strategy and conversations.
Required Skills:
- Minimum 3 years B2B sales experience with a proven record of meeting/exceeding revenue targets.
- Experience selling exhibition space and/or sponsorships for B2B events or in industrial/manufacturing sectors (engineering, metals, construction).
- Strong new business development, outbound prospecting, and pipeline building skills.
- Account management experience, including renewals and upselling.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to engage senior executives.
- Proficient in sales negotiations, closing, and consultative, needs‑based selling.
- Highly organized with time‑management and CRM (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar) proficiency.
- Comfortable with phone, video, email, and in‑person sales.
- Ability to analyse basic market data and competitor information.
- Willingness to travel across the UK for client visits and industry events.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field.
- Certifications in sales methodology (e.g., SPIN Selling, MEDDIC, or similar) are an advantage.
