Checkbook Intern: Operations, Legal & People Ops
**Role Summary**
Internship providing early exposure to senior executive decision‑making in a fintech. Intern will support legal, compliance, People Ops, and operations functions, coordinating executive schedules, managing legal documents, and participating in operational projects. Exposure to risk evaluation and priority setting.
**Expectations**
- Minimise executive inbox noise and highlight critical items.
- Review and organize living legal documents.
- Track deadlines, manage executive calendars, and coordinate meetings.
- Assist in employee onboarding, People Ops initiatives, and culture projects.
- Support COO on operational projects (onboarding, risk, process documentation).
- Perform light data analysis/reporting to inform decisions.
- Communicate clearly in writing; maintain confidentiality.
- Work independently, prioritise tasks, and demonstrate intellectual curiosity.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Legal/Compliance inbox triage and document review.
- Calendar management for Co‑CEO, General Counsel, COO, People Ops Manager.
- Coordination of executive meeting logistics (Calendly, Doodle).
- Support People Ops: onboarding, record‑keeping, internal documentation, employee experience projects.
- Assist COO: customer onboarding, risk work, process improvement, system maintenance.
- Data analysis & reporting to support operational decisions.
- Maintain operational discipline and improve workflows.
**Required Skills**
- Excellent organization & time‑management.
- Detail‑oriented, accuracy in handling sensitive information.
- Strong written communication, professional tone.
- Proficiency with calendar tools (Calendly, Doodle) and basic office software.
- Ability to learn and apply legal/compliance and operational concepts quickly.
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.

**Required Education & Certifications**
- Current enrollment or recent graduate in Law, Business Administration, Finance, Operations, Human Resources, or related field.
- No specific certifications required, but foundational exposure to legal, operations or HR environments preferred.
