**Job Title:** DevOps Engineer **Role Summary:** Leads DevOps initiatives by designing, automating, and maintaining scalable on‑premise and cloud‑native solutions. Collaborates with development and infrastructure teams to improve deployment quality, reliability, and operational efficiency. **Expectations:** - Hybrid work (minimum 3 days/week on‑site in Fort Wayne, IN or Indianapolis, IN) - Authorized to work in the U.S. without future visa sponsorship - 6+ years hands‑on IT experience, strong communication, and mentorship abilities - Commitment to continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and adherence to DevOps/Agile best practices **Key Responsibilities:** - Deploy and sustain critical applications in on‑premise and cloud environments - Design and implement secure automation (IaC, configuration management, dependency handling) - Select, configure, and enhance CI/CD tools and pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, TravisCI) - Maintain version control systems (Git, Subversion) and enforce branching strategies - Support cross‑functional engineering teams on emerging technologies - Drive best‑practice adoption for system hardening, high availability, and release processes - Mentor team members and promote automation using Bash, Python, Perl, etc. - Define, monitor, and report on key performance indicators for DevOps operations - Facilitate knowledge sharing and coordinate communication with customers and internal stakeholders **Required Skills:** - Strong Linux and Windows system administration - Proficient in scripting/automation languages (Bash, Python, Perl) - Experience with CI/CD platforms (Jenkins, TravisCI, etc.) and version control (Git, Subversion) - Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) and configuration management (Ansible, Chef, Puppet) - Understanding of software development lifecycle, DevOps, and Agile principles - Knowledge of security best practices; containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) a plus - Analytical thinking, problem‑solving, and effective stakeholder communication **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field - 6+ years relevant professional experience (formal certifications optional)
